Learning from a game #2

Untitled-2.jpgThose were some screens from the game that I played. I captured them because I thought it was true. Often we thought other people were bad but we didn’t consider ourselves. When other people did some wicked things toward us and we avenged them by doing the same thing as they had done, I think it made us no different with them.

Perhaps it is unrealistic, but I agree that taking revenge will bring us into a never-ending chain of pain. You see that when we took revenge to someone, he would take revenge to us, then we would do it again. It would be repeated for many times until we were destroyed in the end. In order to end it, I believe we have to stop doing the bad thing to the people who hurt us. On the other hand, we should revenge his bad thing with our good one. It will set free our heart form any malice and maybe it can change him too.

This Christmas

It’s Christmas again. By this Christmas, I heard some sad news. It was about the Christmas celebration rejection from certain groups of people, and lately, we heard about the bomb terrors even I don’t know exactly what was it aimed for. Facing this situation, I think it is common for us to feel uncomfortable, insecure and may be a little worry. But I think it’s OK. We learned Christmas was about presents, celebrations and joy in a wrong way. I think instead of there is a joy because everything is going well according to our will, we have to learn that we still can find a joy in every situation, even in the worst one.

Let’s go back to two thousand years ago. When Christ was born, I think we got the same situation. Rejection, terror and difficulties, the baby Christ and his parents faced all of them. They had no room for Mary to deliver her Son. As a pregnant woman, I think it was very difficult to make a travel. The difficulties were increased when she need to bear but there was no one willing to provide a room. I think they must have been very sad, flustered and may be a little angry with the current situation. You know the next stories. Rejection didn’t interfere with the birth of Christ. In the middle of unexpected hardness and difficulties, Christ still be born, even He was born in the manner, an unsuitable place for a baby to be born. Could you imagine how can they have a joy? I myself couldn’t do it.

Was everything ends after He was born? No, it was not. They still had to face a terror because Herod wanted to kill the baby Christ. He ordered to kill every male infant. I couldn’t imagine the terror that each parents had to face, including Mary and Joseph. They must have feared and were forced to run to Egypt, where they lived as strangers, far away from their home town. Were they happy when they did it? I was sure they weren’t.

All of difficulties they had to face were caused by the baby Christ. However, they didn’t give up on Him. They faced everything because they believed in their Son. And I believe in every hard situation they had to face, they could find a joy and peace. I think that was Christmas.

Christmas this year made me learned to trust God in every situation. No matter how worst it was, God was still in control. Rejection, terror, difficulties can’t interfere God’s love for us. And we should imitate it. There should be nothing can stop spreading love to other, sharing goodness to the needed and testifying God’s grace in our life. We have no fear, we have a joy and peace because God grants them to us. And now, it depends to us for living the love that God has provided.

One more, may in this Christmas we learn to imitate Christ. Even the world rejected Him, no one welcomed His birth, but the shepherds and the magi, He still loves this world and he proved it by His death on the cross. He loves the people who hated Him, even they who crucified Him.

In this Christmas, may the peace and love always be with us. Merry Christmas.

A lesson from cakes

When I was kid, there was a time Mommy brought chocolate cakes when she went back from town. That time we lived at the suburb, and chocolate cakes were rare. We longed for it when Mommy went to town. As a kid, I loved those cakes so much. My favorite one was the cake with candy bird-like-form. I remembered we, I and my siblings always fought for it when Mommy bought some different cakes. Like other kids, we wanted the cake with candy bird-like-form because we loved the candy bird-like-form. I didn’t know why I used to love it so much, while there were the others ones, even there was no candy like-bird form, still yummy and of course their price were same. But kids didn’t think all of it. We just see the unique, candy bird-like-form, and forgot the cake’s taste.

Isn’t it similar with something happened in our daily life? We run for great job, social position, or wealth and think that it will guarantee our success. That’s why we work for it all days and nights, instead of find what is actually the goal of our life. Many friends of me complaint although having a great job, got a high position in the community and abundant money, still they fell empty and unhappy.

I notice that what actually we thing it will comfort us, in contrast doesn’t work. Why does it happen? Well, similar with the candy bird-form-like cake, we all run for the things that we think it is interesting for us, such as great job, high position or wealth but forget the most important one that is this life itself. Happiness is not decided by our position in society or how much our money, but by how we feel and enjoy our life, and of course with a grateful heart.

3 forbidden words

  1. I can’t

When you said ‘I can’t’ actually you were closing your mind for finding solution and trying to solve the problem. On the other side, if you said ‘I can’ you let your mind finding the solution.

  1. Impossible

They who said ‘impossible’ would close the door for miracle. By doing it, they prevented themselves from getting something great. It’s because everything we have today is something that impossible we got yesterday. There is always a miracle everyday for they who believe in God.

  1. I know

Saying ‘I know” means you’re closing the door for learning, so we don’t try to learn something new. Instead, there is always something new to learn in our life.

Nothing impossible

I was like watching Masterchef programs very much. It was very amazing when the winner of Masterchef US season 3 was Christine, a blind woman. Christine inspired me very much. She could overpower her limitation, her blind and get the champion. Who could predict that she would be the winner. Maybe most people looked down her. But she could make a difference and she made herself an inspirational one.

When I thought bout my condition, it made me shame.  I have normal condition, but when I faced difficulty, I gave up. I didn’t try my best. I just thought it was ver hard and I could do it, even I gave up before I tried. I thought it was impossible for me so I easily gave up.

Look back to Christine, I read that she began to learn cooking after she had lost her sight. What if she thought it was impossible for a blind woman to cook with her hands? We wouldn’t get her as the Masterchef champion, and she couldn’t give many people inspiration.

Considering Luca, the Masterchef US season 4 winner. He used to fail before in the Masterchef 3 audition, but he went back in season 4 and he made it, he made himself as Masterchef 4 contestant. In the first episodes, Luca always got bad comments and he was looked very bad, I think he would get elimate soon, but it’s not happenned. Luca proved himself good enough and hardwork so he could overpower his skill. What if Luca stop to try after his first failure and did’t come back? He wouldn’t be the Masterchef champion. They have proved impossible is nothing. It’s seems to I’m possible than impossible.

When I thought about them and looked myself, well, if they could make it, I suposed to do the same thing too. About my preparation for TOEFL test, I almost gave up and think it was impossible for me to get the high score, that was an example case of my life, but beside it, there are so many hardness in this life. There is always a chance for win, it’s up to us wheter we choose to use the chance, even it’s ver small, or to close it.

learning

Today I chatted with my sister about her colledge study and her activities. She told me it was hard for her to maintain her study and her activities. It’s ok, I said. When I adviced her, I remembered my TOEFL study. It’s hard for me too. My English is not good enough, I doubt if I can get the enough score for TOEFL test. But I noticed that it is a process. Learning is a process from don’t know and don’t understand become an experts. Learning doesn’t mean we made no mistake. It’s OK for me to make mistakes. But the important one is how I make mistakes, so I can learn them, correct my self and manage my mistakes in the future. If I get no mistake, so what’s the point of study? Just need not to sudy…
